FM Tour Diary: Pete's Europe Tour Blog - Rehearsals - 8 June 2011

Rehearsal day…

I spend the morning trying to fathom what to pack in which bag. I need hand luggage for Sweden and a bag for the rest of the shows which goes in the truck which will meet us on our return from Sweden. Steve gets to mine about 1.30pm, we load up the vehicles in the rain and head off to Kings Langley.

We set up at our usual snail's pace. Jem arrives directly from Gatwick after his holiday in Jamaica and he's a little frayed around the edges. We have a conflab on the different options of set list - Sweden is an hour, Download 40 minutes and the two Irish shows are 30. We run the Sweden set - 57 minutes, that'll do nicely. We have a break, run it again and then it's time to head home to try to get at least a couple of hours sleep. We are meeting at LHR at the ungodly and un-rock and roll time of 4.40am.

I get home just before 11pm and have a couple of medicinal beers. I go to bed about 12.30am, set the alarm for 3am and will myself to sleep…
