FM Tour Diary: Day Off - Lake Lugano - 17 November 2015
Day off. My new roomie Richard and I get u
p around midday and take the short walk
down to Lake Lugano. Wow, what breathtaking scenery, absolutely beautiful. The other
guys are in a pizza restaurant about a fifteen-minute picturesque around the lake.
Rich and I meet them and have a coffee. We explore the town and return to the hotel
to chill. Today's hotel is definitely in the 'cosy' bracket but the location is second
to none.
We walk to a nearby bar and meet Steve, Jim, Ian and Sue who have been there since
2pm. They're in a very chilled state… some may say chilled as newts. The England
v France game is on the TV and I'm proud to say the England fans sang the French
anthem to show solidarity. Respect. The hardcore drinking team get the white flag
out around 10pm leaving Rich and me to watch the game in peace. They also left is
with their bill for four Amaretto sours, thanks guys… and Ian's wallet. We have a
couple more beers and return to the hotel where sleep is beckoning…
